Commanderin’ – E168 – Dungeon Deck with Sean Patchen

Howdy folks,
We get out to a bunch of different shows throughout the year, and the greatest joy we have is playing folks and seeing their decks. There’s so much creativity out there, and we see a fraction of the possible decks when we stay local.
When Nic Berry (@pattapit on Twitter) sat down with Phil and Ryan Greene (@greenegeek) and Zack Taylor (@z4ck38) from the Brothers War Podcast (@brotherswarcast) at MagicFest Los Angeles, and told us about Sean Patchen’s (@swordstoplow) “Dungeon” deck, we had to play it – and, wow, it is the most unique deck we’ve played since Ethan Fleischer’s (@EthanFleischer) Bears deck at GP Las Vegas 2018!
This deck really does play like a series of role-playing encounters, and is a legitimate deck in its own right. If you like role-playing in general, or playing a more cerebral or even a political game, this deck is for you. If not to play, to play against – you have to dive into the Dungeon!
You can find the deck here:
We welcomed Sean Patchen to the show as a guest – finally! Sean has been a pillar of the Commander community for a very long time – he’s had his own show, guested on several other shows, and is on Twitter. He and Phil have known each other and talked about being on Commanderin’ for years, and we are happy we finally had the perfect reason to talk!

Special thanks to Tyler Webb and the Unformatted Review Show for helping us with migrating the podcast to a new home! Each episode, Tyler and his friend, Chris, talk about a movie. They’re not family friendly, but their takes on these movies is worth listening to… without children nearby.
