In my don't buy precons video I talked about not learning skills of removal and card advantage from playing casual EDH. And so many people insisted that all the skills they learn playing casual EDH are the same. But in deck building I have seen the opposite... People who just play casual EDH don't learn the value of playing around cards and how to beat things properly.
