Steps
How does this combo work?
1 | Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Reputable Merchant. |
2 | When Reputable Merchant dies, its innate ability and persist ability trigger. |
3 | Resolve the Reputable Merchant trigger, putting a +1/+1 counter on a creature you control. |
4 | Resolve the persist trigger, returning Reputable Merchant from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it. |
5 | When Reputable Merchant enters, it triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it. |
6 | Resolve the Shilgengar ability. |
7 | Repeat. |
