   Steps

How does this combo work?
1
Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing a persist creature that does not have a -1/-1 counter on it.
2
When the creature dies, its persist ability and Bhaal trigger.
3
Resolve the Bhaal trigger, putting a +1/+1 counter on the remaining persist creature.
4
Resolve the sacrificed creature's persist trigger, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
5
Resolve the Shilgengar ability from step 1.
6
Repeat.
