Steps
How does this combo work?
1 | At the beginning of your precombat main phase, There and Back Again triggers, creating a legendary 6/6 Smaug creature token, and causing you to sacrifice There and Back Again. |
2 | Cast Whim of Volrath with buyback by paying , targeting the Smaug token. |
3 | Orvar's first ability triggers, creating a copy of the Smaug token. |
4 | Put the new Smaug token into your graveyard due to the legend rule. |
5 | When Smaug dies, it triggers, creating fourteen Treasure tokens. |
6 | Resolve Whim of Volrath from step 2, returning it to your hand. |
7 | Activate three Treasures by tapping and sacrificing them, adding . |
8 | Repeat from step 2. |
9 | Once you have infinite colored mana, you may instead target any other permanent(s) you control using Whim of Volrath, to create infinite tokens of them using Orvar. |
