It's a new year, and with it, a new endeavor.

We're pleased to announce a new project going live today we've dubbed "Community Corner."

Community Corner will encompass articles, content, and other media dedicated to highlighting the positive and interesting aspects of Magic: The Gathering's globe-spanning playerbase. It's an emphasis on "the gathering" part of Magic: The Gathering, and we'll be using our platform to champion those out there who are using Magic as a vehicle to advance community good, help others, or to simply grow their community beyond the gaming table.

You may have noticed the first of these articles debuted today, featuring Women+ In Magic, a group based in Europe working to ensure gaming spaces are welcoming and friendly to women+ worldwide. It's an admirable aim, and exactly the kind of thing Community Corner is built for.

Future Community Corner content will be recognizable, as it'll bear some variation of this logo:

EDHREC won't be the only place you'll see Community Corner content. It'll also appear on Cardsphere, where it'll feature a look at CS users who use the trading platform to build community, fund charitable endeavors, or pursue unique projects. Articles associated with Community Corner will also be searchable with the #communitycorner hashtag. Look for Community Corner content two or three times a month across our platforms.

For all of us at Space Cow Media - owner/operator of EDHREC, Archidekt, and Cardsphere - it's all about Magic: The Gathering. That is likely not surprising to read, but it bears emphasis. Magic is what brings each of us together to work on SCM projects, and Community Corner is a culmination of our passion for both Magic and the gathering.

Or, as put by SCM Director of Marketing Kacey Keel, "so many of us at SCM were members of this community first, so taking time to showcase and feature our peers is vitally important to us."

Kacey's one of a few SCM team members dedicated to generating Community Corner articles, along with myself (Nick Wolf, Media Comms Manager), Lauren Shillinger (Community Engagement), and Morgan Sanchez (Director of Content Operations). Many of the Community Corner articles will be contributed by EDHREC's exemplary newsperson Josh Nelson as well.

"Our team's thrilled to launch our new 'Community Corner' series so we can highlight other organizations, charities, individuals and events that are engaged in some amazing things," added Lauren. "It's the perfect way to share how they're putting the magic in 'paying it forward' in the MTG community."

There's a lot coming in the future, and we're excited to have the opportunity to share it with our extended SCM family. We've got spotlights on more organizations like WIM+, as well as looks at musical acts inspired by Magic, a Cardsphere user who trades on the site to fund an animal sanctuary, and content creators working to better their community through Magic.

Do you know anything that fits the bill? Anything you'd like to see featured on Community Corner? Just drop a comment or email (nickwolf@spacecowmedia.com) and we'll do the rest. In the meantime, thanks for reading!
