Acererak the Archlich must be in hand, or in the command zone. Heartless Summoning must be on the battlefield. Carnival of Souls must be on the battlefield. Staff of the Death Magus must be on the battlefield. Mana needed: plus enough mana to pay for commander tax, if applicable
Steps
  1. Cast Acererak either from your hand or from the command zone by paying and commander tax, if applicable.
  2. Staff of the Death Magus triggers, causing you to gain 1 life.
  3. Acererak enters the battlefield, triggering its first ability and Carnival of Souls.
  4. Resolve the Carnival of Souls trigger, causing you to add and lose 1 life.
  5. Acererak enters the battlefield, returning Acererak from the battlefield to your hand, and venturing into Lost Mine of Phandelver.
  6. Repeat.
