Steps
How does this combo work?
1 | Cast Aeve from the command zone by paying plus commander tax, if applicable. |
2 | Aeve's storm ability triggers, creating a nonlegendary token copy of itself for each spell you've cast previously this turn. |
3 | Activate Ashnod's Altar three times by sacrificing the nontoken Aeve and two Aeve tokens, adding six . |
4 | Choose to have Aeve returned to the command zone from your graveyard. |
5 | Activate Energy Refractor three times by paying  , adding . |
6 | Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing an Aeve token, adding . |
7 | Repeat step 6 until you have enough mana to cast Aeve. |
8 | Repeat from step 1. |
