Lorwyn Eclipsed revisits the beloved plane of Lorwyn and breathes new life into it. With the main foci of kindred cards, -1/-1 counters, and evoke, among others, Lorwyn Eclipsed contains a large number of cards to build new decks and to supplement existing decks. Lorwyn Eclipsed gives us a plethora of combo possibilities, so let's look at the most useful 10 cards for combos from the set!

#10: Dundoolin Weaver

Dundoolin Weaver

Number of Combos: 16

Dundoolin WeaverDundoolin Weaver is a two-mana creature that returns a permanent card from your graveyard to your hand, with the caveat you have to control three creatures. This makes Dundoolin Weaver a cheaper Elvish RegrowerElvish Regrower if you can get two creatures out before it, which isn't a major drawback for creature heavy decks.

Dundoolin Weaver can return cards like Kaya's GhostformKaya's Ghostform to cause infinite recursion combos, or return discarded cards to facilitate Escape ProtocolEscape Protocol and Bone MiserBone Miser combos.

#9: Virulent Emissary

Virulent Emissary

Number of Combos: 20

Virulent EmissaryVirulent Emissary is similar to Essence WardenEssence Warden in that it gives us life as we have creatures enter. These cards, known as "soul-sister effects," are largely interchangeabe, allowing large amounts of redundancy to pull off a combo easier.

Virulent Emissary can trigger Trudge GardenTrudge Garden for infinite creature tokens, or offset Warren SoultraderWarren Soultrader's cost in many scenarios. It can also offset damage dealt to you, especially when running Darien, King of KjeldorDarien, King of Kjeldor.

#8: Collective Inferno

Collective Inferno

Number of Combos: 22

Collective InfernoCollective Inferno serves as a damage doubler geared for kindred decks, making it a redundant piece for cards like Furnace of RathFurnace of Rath and Angrath's MaraudersAngrath's Marauders, Collective Inferno turns Heartless HidetsuguHeartless Hidetsugu into a one-shot kill for any players with an even life total (including yourself).

Collective Inferno also increases the effects of Anti-Venom, Horrifying HealerAnti-Venom, Horrifying Healer and VigorVigor, allowing more counters to be placed for each point of damage. With Agatha's Soul CauldronAgatha's Soul Cauldron and Walking BallistaWalking Ballista, these added counters can result in infinite damage.

#7: Kirol, Attentive First-Year

Kirol, Attentive First-Year

Number of Combos: 26

Kirol, Attentive First-YearKirol, Attentive First-Year has a unique activated ability that allows you to tap two creatures to copy a triggered ability. Of course, it also has that pesky restriction that you can only use the ability once per turn. How about we avoid this restriction by simply creating more Kirols?

Using Molten EchoesMolten Echoes lets you create more Kirols, and use the Kirols to copy the ability. We can add in a token doubler, like Mondrak, Glory DominusMondrak, Glory Dominus to make enough tokens for the activation, and Mirror BoxMirror Box to prevent the tokens from dying to the legend rule.

#6: Dose of Dawnglow

Dose of Dawnglow

Number of Combos: 30

Dose of DawnglowDose of Dawnglow returns any creature card from your graveyard to the battlefield at instant speed. This card is perfectly slotted into recursion decks, allowing on-demand recursion if you're okay with the blight 2 drawback outside your main phases.

Dose of Dawnglow also creates infinite combos with both Dualcaster MageDualcaster Mage and Naru Meha, Master WizardNaru Meha, Master Wizard. You can sacrifice Dualcaster or Naru Meha with their ability on the stack, then copy Dose of Dawnglow targeting them in the graveyard to be returned and trigger again.

With a sacrifice outlet like Goblin BombardmentGoblin Bombardment, this combo ends the game instantly.

#5: Ashling's Command

Ashling's Command

Number of Combos: 36

Ashling's CommandAshling's Command is a kindred instant that's reminiscent of the Charm cycle (think Obscura CharmObscura Charm as an example), allowing you to add one card to your deck that can serve a variety of purposes dependent of your needs at that given time.

What makes Ashling's Command interesting for combos is the Elemental typing, which allows you to recast it from your graveyard using Horde of NotionsHorde of Notions if mana allows.

Coincidentally, Ashling's Command also creates Treasures to help offset its cost. With XornXorn or Jegantha, the WellspringJegantha, the Wellspring on the battlefield, you can both make Treasures and token copies of them to pay for Ashling's Command again.

Throw in a Maelstrom WandererMaelstrom Wanderer and you can also get infinite cascading once you have enough mana.

#4: Gathering Stone

Gathering Stone

Number of Combos: 40

Another card built for kindred decks, Gathering StoneGathering Stone offers a cost reduction similar to Herald's HornHerald's Horn for a named creature type. Gathering Stone can facilitate combos by reducing mana costs of cards like Squee, the ImmortalSquee, the Immortal and Oathsworn VampireOathsworn Vampire, especially if you're running them in Goblin or Vampire decks, respectively.

Gathering Stone also works great for Sliver decks, allowing you to cast Metallic SliverMetallic Sliver for free and get more Slivers into play at a quicker pace.

While it may be more cumbersome due to the creatures not having as popular of creature types, you could also use it to reduce creatures like Cryptic TrilobiteCryptic Trilobite or Workshop AssistantWorkshop Assistant for other combo lines.

#3: Sapling Nursery

Sapling Nursery

Number of Combos: 40

A landfall card is always a welcomed sight, and Sapling NurserySapling Nursery is sure to turn heads for landfall enthusiasts. While the cost seems steep, the first line washes that all away with it having affinity for Forests! This cost reduction allows you to cast Sapling Nursery much quicker, and even for mana in many cases.

When it's in play, you get a 3/4 creature token as lands enter, which is a very strong upside for this card, and the added ability to give Forests you control indestructible as protection from mass land destruction. The creature tokens can serve as a payoff for infinite landfall triggers, and help trigger Kodama of the East TreeKodama of the East Tree to play lands from your hand.

The tokens can also be sacrificed to trigger Beifong's Bounty HuntersBeifong's Bounty Hunters, or pay for Nim DeathmantleNim Deathmantle's cost when sacrificing Dryad ArborDryad Arbor.

#2: Lavaleaper

Lavaleaper

Number of Combos: 139

LavaleaperLavaleaper serves as both a haste enabler and as a vessel to get more mana out of basic lands. Haste enablers are incredibly useful for combos, especially infinite combat combos. Cards like Breath of FuryBreath of Fury and Combat CelebrantCombat Celebrant can leverage the haste into infinite combat phases and (presumably) combat damage if opponents have insufficient blockers.

Haste also gets around summoning sickness, allowing for Krenko, Mob BossKrenko, Mob Boss to tap and create tokens as it enters. A Joo Dee, One of ManyJoo Dee, One of Many token can activate itself instantly.

Adding in the bonus mana if you're running basic lands and Lavaleaper is a very strong card for low-color red decks.

#1: Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn // Isilu, Carrier of Twilight

Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn

Number of Combos: 732

Eirdu, Carrier of DawnEirdu, Carrier of Dawn is an extremely strong card on both sides, but Isilu really sets off a combo cannon. Isilu gives all nontoken creatures you control persist. This effect enables a plethora of combo options, including combining with similar effects from Mikaeus, the UnhallowedMikaeus, the Unhallowed or Luminous BroodmothLuminous Broodmoth, alternating between the recursions infinitely.

The -1/-1 counter can also be counteracted by +1/+1 counters being placed from triggered abilities (such as Cathars' CrusadeCathars' Crusade) or from static effects found on cards like TriskelionTriskelion. You can also recur MorselhoarderMorselhoarder and remove the placed counter to add mana.

There's hundreds of other options, but Eirdu and Isilu are definitely the best choice in Lowryn Eclipsed for a combo commander.
