The Big List of Budget Lands for Commander | 2026 Updated

Last year, I shared a personal list of my favorite budget dual lands for Commander, and a lot has changed since then. Not only has Wizards started to complete classic land cycles, but we've also seen a lot of cards luckily fall under my normal budget range, while a few have spiked in price, unfortunately. So, I thought it was time to do an updated version of this list and include even more categories than I did the first time around.

With all that being said, join me, Tyler 'Savesya' Bucks, as I highlight about 150 lands that you can utilize for your own budget builds!

What Kind of Lands Will We Cover?

When it comes to the lands that I fill my budget builds with, I'm looking for several key things: they should have the possibility to enter untapped, and if they do come into play tapped, they need to offer some sort of upside. Cycling, scrying and turning into useful creatures can help those cards work well in a deck's 99, but I do prioritize lands that can enter play untapped in order to be utilized right away.

There'll be a few lands you'll notice that are missing from the list below: the gain lands (Jungle HollowJungle Hollow), indestructible artifact lands (Rustvale BridgeRustvale Bridge), Dominaria dual lands (Molten TributaryMolten Tributary), Guildgates (Orzhov GuildgateOrzhov Guildgate) and other common draft support lands (like Elvenking's HallsElvenking's Halls) are all omitted. These cards just don't offer enough value to go out and purchase. However, if you have them in your collection, or you're building around a specific commander that synergizes with these, be sure to still utilize them. Building with your bulk helps you save a lot of money in the long run!

Finally, I have these cards listed in alphabetical order, so keep that in mind in case you think I'm playing favorites with how this is set up. With all that being said, let's kick things off with four lands that should go in basically every single multicolor Commander deck.

Five-Color Fixing

Command Tower
Exotic Orchard

Command TowerCommand Tower and Exotic OrchardExotic Orchard are staples for a good reason: both enter untapped and can fix your mana right away. Plus, in recent years, they've been printing thematic art treatments of these two lands in order to better help them fit into each universe that the commander precons take place in. Which is a lovely touch!

Fabled Passage
Path of Ancestry

Fabled PassageFabled Passage has finally started to slip into the budget range, thanks to it being printed in the last several precon products. That's a trend I hope continues, because this is a great option for fetching an untapped basic into play. Path of AncestryPath of Ancestry is a land that I consistently urge players to run, since it'll fix your mana and will let you scry when you play your commander at the very least. Of course, if you have more creatures that share you commander's type, it gets even better.

Three-Color Lands

If you're building a deck with three or more colors, then these lands will be helpful to have on hand. I specifically want to shout out the Landscape cycle that's featured here. These lands are great at any point in the game, since they can fix your mana in the early turns, be an untapped land drop when your colors are already taken care of, and can be thrown away to draw a new card if you just need to find an answer. These commons are just incredible, so it might be time to look through your bulk for them!

My Final Thoughts on Budget Lands

I truly do use these lands all the time for my budget builds, and I hope having all of them in one place will help you do the same! If you're looking to stock up on these lands for yourself, I'm partnering with Cardsphere to help make it easier than ever to start building your collection of cheap but effective lands for whenever the urge hits you to build a new deck.

If you'd like to try out their site, so that you can turn unplayed cards into played cards, then you can find out more about them here. Also, if you're looking to pick up any of these singles, then you can check a spreadsheet I created that contains every land we've talked about today. That lists all of these cards in a format that'll make it super easy to copy and paste into your favorite online retailer! I'll be consistently updating this spreadsheet, so be sure to check back in on it the next time you're building a new deck.
