Steps
How does this combo work?
1 | At the beginning of your precombat main phase, There and Back Again triggers, putting a lore counter on it. |
2 | There and Back Again's third chapter ability triggers, creating a legendary 6/6 Smaug creature token and causing you to sacrifice There and Back Again. |
3 | Caretaker's Talent's first ability triggers, causing you to draw a card. |
4 | Activate Caretaker's Talent by paying , putting a level counter on it. |
5 | Caretaker's Talent's second ability triggers, creating a copy of the Smaug token. |
6 | Put either Smaug token into your graveyard due to the legend rule. |
7 | The Smaug token that died triggers, and Caretaker's Talent's first ability triggers if it hasn't yet triggered this turn. |
8 | Resolve the Caretaker's Talent trigger, if applicable, causing you to draw a card. |
9 | Resolve the Smaug trigger, creating fourteen Treasure tokens. |
