Everflowing Chalice
Chromatic Sphere
Laboratory Maniac
Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder
Prerequisites
What do I need to start this combo?
| Everflowing Chalice in your library. | |
| Tucks your artifact to bottom of library in hand or on the battlefield. | |
| Laboratory Maniac and Yidris on the battlefield. | |
| Chromatic Sphere and Card with Mana Value 1 in hand. | |
| Yidris has dealt combat damage to a player this turn, but does not need to remain on the battlefield. | |
| Everflowing Chalice is the only 0-cost card in your library. | |
Steps
How does this combo work?
1 | Cast Chromatic Sphere by paying |
2 | Chromatic Sphere's cascade ability from Yidris triggers, causing you to exile Everflowing Chalice from your library and cast it, declining to pay the kicker cost. |
3 | Put Everflowing Chalice on the bottom of your library using any "tucking" effect. |
4 | Let Chromatic Sphere resolve if it is still on the stack. |
5 | Cast any card with mana value 1. |
6 | That card's cascade ability triggers, causing you to exile every card in your library and cast Everflowing Chalice. |
7 | Choose to pay the kicker cost by paying |
8 | This mana ability resolves in the middle of the cascade resolution, so your library is still empty, causing you to win the game instead of drawing a card due to Laboratory Maniac. |
