How does this combo work?

2 | Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the white creature, adding . |
3 | When the creature dies, its persist ability triggers, returning itself from your graveyard to the battlefield with no -1/-1 counters on it due to Solemnity. |
4 | Repeat. |
