Steps
How does this combo work?
1 | Cast Venser by paying plus commander tax if applicable. |
2 | When Venser enters, it triggers targeting any applicable target, and Confusion of the Ranks also triggers targeting a creature an opponent controls. |
3 | Resolve the Confusion of the Ranks trigger, exchanging control of Venser and the targeted creature. |
4 | Holding priority, cast Deflecting Swat by paying at most , changing the target of Venser's trigger to Venser. |
5 | Resolve Venser's ability, creating two token copies of it with haste. |
6 | Put all but one Venser token into your graveyard due to the legend rule. |
7 | The Venser tokens' abilities each trigger, with one trigger targeting the nontoken Venser and the other ability targeting any valid target. |
8 | Resolve the Venser ability not targeting Venser, creating two copies of the chosen permanent with haste. |
9 | Resolve the other Venser ability, creating two token copies of Venser with haste. |
10 | Repeat from step 6. |
