What do I need to start this combo?
| All permanents on the battlefield (Doom Weaver is paired with the persist creature on the battlefield and Persist Creature without a -1/-1 counter on it on the battlefield). |
Steps
How does this combo work?
1 | Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing the persist creature. |
2 | When the persist creature dies, its persist ability and the ability granted to it by Doom Weaver each trigger. |
3 | Resolve the second trigger, causing you to draw a card. |
4 | Resolve the persist trigger, returning the persist creature from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it. |
5 | When the persist creature enters the battlefield, Olivia and Doom Weaver's soulbond ability trigger. |
6 | Resolve the Olivia trigger, putting a +1/+1 counter on the persist creature and causing you to discard a card. |
7 | Resolve the Doom Weaver trigger, repairing it and the persist creature. |
8 | Repeat. |
