Steps
How does this combo work?
1 | Cast Gerrard either from your graveyard or from the command zone by paying and commander tax, if applicable. |
2 | Gerrard enters the battlefield, triggering Molten Echoes, creating a token copy of Gerrard with haste. |
3 | Put the nontoken Gerrard into your graveyard due to the legend rule. |
4 | The nontoken Gerrard dies, triggering its ability. |
5 | Holding priority, activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing the token Gerrard, adding one mana of any color. |
6 | The token Gerrard dies, exiling itself and returning the nontoken Gerrard from your graveyard to the battlefield. |
7 | Repeat from step 2. |
