Steps
How does this combo work?
1 | Activate Cinderhaze Wretch's second ability by putting a -1/-1 counter on it, untapping it. |
2 | Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Kitchen Finks, adding . |
3 | Kitchen Finks dies, triggering its persist ability, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter and a vigilance counter on it. |
4 | Kitchen Finks enters the battlefield, causing you to gain two life. |
5 | Activate Tayam by paying  , removing a -1/-1 counter from Cinderhaze Wretch, and both counters from Kitchen Finks. |
6 | Holding priority, activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Kitchen Finks, adding . |
7 | Repeat steps 3-5 one additional time. |
8 | Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Kitchen Finks, adding . |
9 | Resolve Tayam's ability from step 6, causing you to mill three cards and returning Kitchen Finks from your graveyard to the battlefield. |
10 | Kitchen Finks enters the battlefield, causing you to gain two life. |
