Dragon Shield's newest line of Magic: The Gathering-themed sleeves launches on Friday, August 14th. Luckily, I got the wonderful opportunity to review the line ahead of time! Ten Guilds, 100 Sleeves, Plenty of Customization

Speaking as a fan of the ten guilds of Ravnica, these sleeves are absolutely perfect for two-color decks in aesthetic. That said, Wizards of the Coast is certainly not above making additional watermarks or signets for other planes of existence within Magic. However, until we get a Lorehold-themed set of sleeves that are this pleasing to hold, I'll be sticking with the Boros Guild sleeves for my Quintorius, History ChaserQuintorius, History Chaser deck. Dragon Shield was gracious enough to send me all ten sets of sleeves for my verdict on them. Nevertheless, for this particular article, I'll be showcasing the Rakdos sleeves, with the firm expectation that each set is going to be similar, albeit with the obvious aesthetic differences.

The sleeves themselves are dual-matte with two color tones. The inside of each set's sleeves is one solid color, while the back is two-tone, printed with the respective guild's signet/watermark. They're fancy and look great.

At an MSRP of $24.99 per pack of 100 dual matte sleeves, these sleeves are at a bit of a heftier price than your average sleeves. However, for some players, you cannot put a price on presentation! This is partly why I'm so thrilled to bedeck my two-color decks in these where it matters.

The Practicality Review: How Do These Fit?

The sleeves in the Guildpact Series fit my Commander decks really nicely. For instance, the Rakdos sleeves, which I decided to put my Kuja, Genome SorcererKuja, Genome Sorcerer deck into, felt like they fit the deck snugly. They aren't fitting with too much resistance, but also aren't loose on the cards, either. These sleeves fit great; that's my point.

Furthermore, no air pockets formed when sleeving my cards in. To that end, I'm really impressed by the Guildpact Series.

More Practicality: How Do These Shuffle?

The Guildpact Series handles really well, too. When going into my shuffle test, I was able to shuffle these well without any slippage or wear to the sleeves. This unslipping characteristic is mostly thanks to the matte back. But the durability of these sleeves lends itself to the general lack of wear, as well!

Conclusion

Even more so than the two-tone dual matte sleeves I reviewed in July, I really like these sleeves in look and feel. If you're in the market for higher-end sleeves, I'd suggest that this is where your search might end. Depending on the deck, of course.
