On Tuesday, September 29th, Wizards of the Coast teased a new Secret Lair Superdrop for October 12th, 2026. Titled "The Ears See All", this drop series is largely obscured for the moment. As it stands, save for a chance licensing disclaimer, we know next to nothing about it.

However, this article seeks to look at the licensing disclaimer because it reveals a lot about the Superdrop.

Looking at the permissions given to Wizards of the Coast, we see three licensed properties, of which it's clear that we will get separate Universes Beyond drops. The first, unsurprisingly, is Marvel. The other two, KPop Demon Hunters and Jim Henson's Labyrinth, are the impactful drops for this author. We have known for a while that KPop Demon Hunters was forthcoming, according to Wizards of the Coast ex-CEO Chris Cocks, emphatically stating such in last year's Q3 earning report. However, Labyrinth is completely new information, albeit likely stemming from Wizards' repeated dealings with The Jim Henson Company.

But for the time being, as there's not a lot to go by just yet, all we can do is speculate on what we're going to see.

Secret Lair Speculation

There's truly no definitive answer as to whether or not KPop Demon Hunters or Labyrinth's drops will feature mechanically unique cards. We don't even know how many drops will feature each of these individual properties. This isn't bad news, per se, but there's a double-edged sword in the announcement. The Superdrop launches on Monday, October 12th, which happens to also be Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples' Day, a national holiday in the United States. Many people will be off of work that day, as a result, lowering overall chances to claim these drops, with a necessary asterisk to this.

That asterisk is that Wizards of the Coast continues to play around with the release models for Secret Lair. Therefore, there's a possibility, however slim, that this Superdrop will not be limited-print. Now, I don't want to get anyone's hopes too high as Wizards of the Coast hasn't yet confirmed this, but it's certainly possible, is my point.
