<h1>Introduction</h1>
<p>We find ourselves in a meandering place, one where the subtle shifts of earth lead our thoughts to wandering along with our legs. A place where history, mythology, and imagination all meld together in a blur of paint on the canvasses of culture.</p>
<p>Welcome to <em>Dual Shot</em>, where we brew two decks at the same time... in one deck.</p>
<p>This time, we'll be considering a list led by <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis" href="#" target="_blank">Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, a fairly popular commander, though, in the context of its peers, one that's <a href="https://edhrec.com/articles/underdogs-corner-kynaios-and-tiro-of-meletis/">often underutilized</a>, in comparison.</p>
<p>Now, in a more focused and levelheaded write-up, we might explore the inspirations of Kynaios and Tiro - <a href="https://edhrec.com/articles/author/charles-allison/">historically speaking</a> - and lean into the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harmodius_and_Aristogeiton">Tyrannicides</a> or the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacred_Band_of_Thebes">Sacred Theban Band</a>, and their reflections in Theros. But no: I'm veering off into another plane and peering through a much more distant lens. So despite our Therosian commander(s), we'll instead be scrying at the great Indian subcontinent for ideas - the inspirational spark for Kaladesh.</p>

<p>One of the avatars of the supreme being is Kurma - the tortoise whose many domains include the churning rod of the Ocean of Milk, vegetal life, arteries and nerves, steadfastness... and countless others. The sphere we're interested in, however, is <em>yajna</em> - that is, the sacred flame and the acts before it. It is in this incarnation that we see the <em>fire tortoise</em>.</p>
<p>From here, we can begin to make sense of the duality of our deck. This is a <a href="https://edhrec.com/themes/burn">burn</a> deck inside a <a href="https://edhrec.com/tribes/walls">Wall tribal</a> deck. We will play defense, turtling, deflecting, withstanding - while simultaneously keeping pressure on opponents with scalable noncombat damage and even discouraging retribution though the innate group hug built-in by our general. This is about as antipodal as <em>Dual Shot</em> gets, folks.</p>

<h2>Meditations on Duality</h2>
<p>We talk about "bridge cards" on here with some frequency, either seeking them out to ford disparate concepts, or else starting with them as the foundation of these two-headed decks. In this list, the most apparent are cards like <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Electrostatic Field" href="#" target="_blank">Electrostatic Field</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Vent Sentinel" href="#" target="_blank">Vent Sentinel</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, and even <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Earthquake" href="#" target="_blank">Earthquake</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, for its provision of scaling to our needs in any given board state. Wipe out our opponents creatures while retaining our high-toughness defenders? Sure. Pumping it up with <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Seething Song" href="#" target="_blank">Seething Song</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> to stir your own <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Hornet Nest" href="#" target="_blank">Hornet Nest</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>? Wonderful.</p>

<p>If you're going to try to win with <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Heartless Hidetsugu" href="#" target="_blank">Heartless Hidetsugu</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> and <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Furnace of Rath" href="#" target="_blank">Furnace of Rath</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, make sure you have <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="The Wanderer" href="#" target="_blank">The Wanderer</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> in play lest you risk forcing a draw. Otherwise, sudden combative turns with <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Tower Defense" href="#" target="_blank">Tower Defense</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Assault Formation" href="#" target="_blank">Assault Formation</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, and <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Arcades, the Strategist" href="#" target="_blank">Arcades, the Strategist</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> can turn the tide in your favor. Meanwhile, <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Mark of Asylum" href="#" target="_blank">Mark of Asylum</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Pramikon, Sky Rampart" href="#" target="_blank">Pramikon, Sky Rampart</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, and, you know, a dozen other Walls, can stop the tide altogether.</p>

<p><span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Manabarbs" href="#" target="_blank">Manabarbs</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> is a great inclusion, but it might attract too much attention, even considering that your opponents might want to keep you around for <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis" href="#" target="_blank">Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>. At any rate, <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Wall of Shards" href="#" target="_blank">Wall of Shards</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> certainly won't be enough in the way of politicking your way out of the spotlight, should it land on you. Another great inclusion is <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Fortified Area" href="#" target="_blank">Fortified Area</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, but, oh no, I've gone cross-eyed.</p>
<p>We do buy ourselves a good bit of time with our cheap defenders gumming up the board, and with <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Wall of Mulch" href="#" target="_blank">Wall of Mulch</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> or <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Arcades, the Strategist" href="#" target="_blank">Arcades, the Strategist</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, we can continue to draw into and replace our blockers. And <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Overgrown Battlement" href="#" target="_blank">Overgrown Battlement</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> and <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Axebane Guardian" href="#" target="_blank">Axebane Guardian</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> should help us pay for what we need. Fortunately, the average mana value of our defenders is comfortably below 3 CMC, so despite some demanding color pips, costs aren't too oppressive here, even in four colors.</p>
<p><span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Fiery Emancipation" href="#" target="_blank">Fiery Emancipation</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> is a great upgrade to one of our damage-multipliers, say, <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Furnace of Rath" href="#" target="_blank">Furnace of Rath</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> for its oppressive color cost, or <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Angrath&#039;s Marauders" href="#" target="_blank">Angrath&#039;s Marauders</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> for its mana value of 7. Just don't try to slot in <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Tree of Perdition" href="#" target="_blank">Tree of Perdition</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> hoping for a quick burn victory, because that card is <em>not</em> in our color identity, and it costs ten dollars, haha, oops.</p>

<h2>Conclusion</h2>
<p>Anyway, this all makes for a deck that's deeply at odds with itself in the best way possible. It's fun not knowing if you'll draw into fiery offense <em>or</em> something to shell up with and play defense, and, like the <em>fire tortoise</em>, this deck is slow and steady until it isn't.</p>

<h1>Tear Your Hand Into Pieces</h1>
<p>Welcome back to <em>The Toolbox!</em> Here we take a look at underplayed cards and evaluate where they ought to see more play. Today we’re taking a look at a really cool theft card: <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Mindclaw Shaman" href="#" target="_blank">Mindclaw Shaman</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>!</p>

<p><span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Mindclaw Shaman" href="#" target="_blank">Mindclaw Shaman</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> is not the strongest creature, just a 2/2 for five mana. Luckily, there's a bit more to him than that. The important part is that his enter-the-battlefield trigger forces an opponent to reveal their hand, and you can cast an instant or sorcery from it for free.</p>
<p>As a single-target trigger, where can an effect like this really be utilized in Commander? Let's start by looking at <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Mindclaw Shaman" href="#" target="_blank">Mindclaw Shaman</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>'s most common commanders thus far:</p>

<p>This EDHREC page surprises me a bit, to be honest, as it only features mono-red commanders. The commanders that are there, however, do make a lot of sense. Kiki-Jiki lets you make copies of Mindclaw to shred your opponents' hands and get a ton of free spells. Ilharg's presence is also pretty easy to explain, as you can cheat Mindclaw into play each turn and get the same payoff as Kiki-Jiki. Feldon also appears here, letting you make token copies of Mindclaw for multiple copies of the same effect.</p>
<p>The thing is, effects like the one on <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Mindclaw Shaman" href="#" target="_blank">Mindclaw Shaman</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> are limited due to only targeting a single opponent, so decks need to be able to capitalize on this effect multiple times to really profit.</p>
<p>In other words, where else should this card see play?</p>

<h2>Copy Time</h2>
<p>Starting off the Gruul Year right, we have <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Wort, the Raidmother" href="#" target="_blank">Wort, the Raidmother</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>! As a red-green <a href="https://edhrec.com/themes/spellslinger">Spellslinging</a> commander, there's a lot of interesting room for interaction.</p>

<p>In red and green, the options for interacting with opposing instants and sorceries are minimal. Luckily, <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Mindclaw Shaman" href="#" target="_blank">Mindclaw Shaman</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> offers some extra reach that Gruul decks don't usually see. Wort can routinely copy huge ritual spells like <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Mana Geyser" href="#" target="_blank">Mana Geyser</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> and <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Early Harvest" href="#" target="_blank">Early Harvest</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, making the hefty cost of Mindclaw pretty much irrelevant. The main payoff, though, is that Wort lets you copy the spell that <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="MIndclaw Shaman" href="#" target="_blank">MIndclaw Shaman</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> steals from your opponent's hand! This means you get at least two spells for the price of one, <em>and</em> you get to make the opponent discard their spell.</p>
<p><span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Mindclaw Shaman" href="#" target="_blank">Mindclaw Shaman</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> has to be timed carefully; if you pick the wrong opponent, they might not have any spells to copy at all. Still, I think this risk is worth it on a commander that can double any spell you end up stealing. Not only that, but don't discount how powerful it can be to fore an opponent to reveal the secrets in their hand.</p>

<p>When it's time to <a href="https://edhrec.com/themes/blink">blink</a> creatures, you have a lot of options. With commanders like <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Brago, King Eternal" href="#" target="_blank">Brago, King Eternal</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, it's hard to imagine picking anything <em>other </em>than the classic blink-manders. However, <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Pramikon, Sky Rampart" href="#" target="_blank">Pramikon, Sky Rampart</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> is a new option that has caused some waves in the world of blink decks, as it can be flickered to cause a crazy shift right before combat.</p>

<p>Pramikon offers a lot in disruption of combat, but it doesn't do much against other avenues of victory. It does nothing against a <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Torment of Hailfire" href="#" target="_blank">Torment of Hailfire</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, for example. Luckily blue does have <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Counterspell" href="#" target="_blank">Counterspell</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>s, but <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Mindclaw Shaman" href="#" target="_blank">Mindclaw Shaman</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> offers a proactive option for disrupting your opponents even further.</p>
<p>In this deck, you're already running <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Ephemerate" href="#" target="_blank">Ephemerate</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Soulherder" href="#" target="_blank">Soulherder</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, and <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Brago, King Eternal" href="#" target="_blank">Brago, King Eternal</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> to blink Pramikon and things like <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Archaeomancer" href="#" target="_blank">Archaeomancer</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>. Having access to a value engine such as Mindclaw Shaman can rip apart the spells they've been storing up to try and attack you over your combat defenses. Though Mindclaw may cast a <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Torment of Hailfire" href="#" target="_blank">Torment of Hailfire</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> where X=0, simply taking the spell out of their hand can be the difference between victory and defeat. Additionally, Pramikon loves knowing where the tide of battle is headed; seeing an opponent's hand and discovering their <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Craterhoof Behemoth" href="#" target="_blank">Craterhoof Behemoth</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> gives you time to reverse the combat direction. Mindclaw not only offers key disruption that Jeskia doesn't usually have access to, but also information that can be key to your protection!</p>

<p>Alesha is one beast of a commander. One who loves tiny creatures. One who laughs not only in the face of death, but also at things like mana costs.</p>

<p>My first thought when I saw <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Mindclaw Shaman" href="#" target="_blank">Mindclaw Shaman</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> in an Alesha deck was, "honestly, this is too perfect." All you have to do is discard Mindclaw to <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Faithless Looting" href="#" target="_blank">Faithless Looting</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> or <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Thrill of Possibility" href="#" target="_blank">Thrill of Possibility</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, then reanimate it with Alesha. Then you get to get some info on an opponent's hand and a free spell! From there you just sacrifice Mindclaw to <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Yahenni, Undying Partisan" href="#" target="_blank">Yahenni, Undying Partisan</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Goblin Bombardment" href="#" target="_blank">Goblin Bombardment</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, or <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Altar of Dementia" href="#" target="_blank">Altar of Dementia</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> to do it all again. It's just shocking to me that a card as powerful as this doesn't make it into a deck that it fits so perfectly. Once you get this set up, you can really wear opponents down to take over the game.</p>
<p>Maybe I'm missing something, but take a look at the decklist and let me know if this is exactly the type of card Alesha's been missing!</p>

<h1>Pramikon, Forting Up Games Since 2019!</h1>
<p>Hello, Commander faithful! I hope you’ve all enjoyed the holidays, regardless of where you are and whether the weather is frightful or not. Hopefully your snow-covered lands feel a little more on-theme for the season! This is <i>Replacement Commanders</i>, the series where we look at the legendary creatures from the annual precon product from <i>Wizards of the Coast</i> that are not on the front of the package and brew a list or two around their unique abilities! This week we're tackling one of the more difficult commanders from <em>C19...</em></p>
<h2 style="text-align: center;">Pramikon, Sky Rampart</h2>

<p>To start, I’ve always struggled to find comfort or success with Jeskai decks. My best showing was with a <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest" href="#" target="_blank">Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> deck where I managed to one-shot someone out of the game somewhere around turn seven (only to die immediately from the other two players who didn't want to become the next victim). Scaring the table shouldn’t be a problem with Pramikon, though. At least, not until it’s too late and the game is firmly in our grasp.</p>
<p>I admit, I openly scoffed at Pramikon during the product’s preview season and thought it was more of a niche joke card than anything else. However, every time I have seen the precon deck or decks built with Pramikon in the command zone since, I have been thoroughly impressed, and my mind has been changed. Being able to read the game early and protect yourself from getting attacked by two-thirds of your opponents is a powerful effect. We can use this control effect especially well by setting up some defenses and forcing our opponents to pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. Let’s break down the important cards and parts of the deck!</p>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Brick and Mortar</h3>

<p>The first thing to do is, of course, work on the defenses. Most people won’t expect much when the Pramikon deck is dropping a few early Walls and defenders, so there’s a good chance everyone will look elsewhere for more profitable attacks.</p>
<p>Pramikon gets particularly weird if we somehow manage to get two of them in play, such as with <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Sakashima the Imposter" href="#" target="_blank">Sakashima the Imposter</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Spark Double" href="#" target="_blank">Spark Double</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, or <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Helm of the Host" href="#" target="_blank">Helm of the Host</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>. If one Pramikon chooses left, and the other chooses right... no one can attack at all, leaving us free to potentially find victory through noncombative ways. <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Mystic Barrier" href="#" target="_blank">Mystic Barrier</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> works as well, since two opposing choices means there is no choice at all!</p>
<p>Aside from these locking pieces, we want Walls and defenders that give us a touch of value along with just a big butt that gets in the way of our enemies. <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Wall of Omens" href="#" target="_blank">Wall of Omens</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Mnemonic Wall" href="#" target="_blank">Mnemonic Wall</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, and <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Wall of Stolen Identity" href="#" target="_blank">Wall of Stolen Identity</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> all have different kinds of value, while <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Fog Bank" href="#" target="_blank">Fog Bank</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Wall of Frost" href="#" target="_blank">Wall of Frost</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, and <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Wall of Denial" href="#" target="_blank">Wall of Denial</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> are fairly resilient blockers. <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="High Alert" href="#" target="_blank">High Alert</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> provided redundancy for <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Arcades, the Strategist" href="#" target="_blank">Arcades, the Strategist</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> decks, and for Pramikon, it allows us to be offensive as well as defensive. Imagine winning a game by taking someone out with the walls of your fortress instead of the monsters within!</p>
<p>Alright, now we know a few staples. Let's take a look at some different potential strategies for Pramikon.</p>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Feeding the Flames</h3>
<div class="edhrecp__cards"><div class="edhrecp__card-container" name="Hunted Dragon"></div><div class="edhrecp__card-container" name="Disrupt Decorum"></div><div class="edhrecp__card-container" name="Benevolent Offering"></div></div>
<p>Even if we have ways to prevent folks from attacking, that’s not always the way to victory. Reading the other players in the early game can give us an idea of which player we can allow to attack us, and which players we would prefer to attack elsewhere. Once Pramikon is on the battlefield and directing traffic, we can help the battle get a little bloodier. <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Disrupt Decorum" href="#" target="_blank">Disrupt Decorum</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> is the type of thing we're looking for, forcing everyone to attack in the only direction they can, while <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Goblin Spymaster" href="#" target="_blank">Goblin Spymaster</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> provides a body while forcing aggression. <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Fumiko the Lowblood" href="#" target="_blank">Fumiko the Lowblood</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> also does a good job of forcing opponents to attack.</p>
<p>I really enjoy how effects like <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Benevolent Offering" href="#" target="_blank">Benevolent Offering</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> work in this scenario, where we choose one player (who can't attack us) to get creatures and pick a different player (who has almost no creatures) to gain life, while reaping both rewards for ourselves. The Hunted creatures <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Hunted Dragon" href="#" target="_blank">Hunted Dragon</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Hunted Lammasu" href="#" target="_blank">Hunted Lammasu</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, and <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Hunted Phantasm" href="#" target="_blank">Hunted Phantasm</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> also provide us a means of throwing troops into the fray, while also giving us some beefy bodies. <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Rite of the Raging Storm" href="#" target="_blank">Rite of the Raging Storm</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> provides consistent bodies each turn, while protecting you even from the person who may attack you.</p>
<div class="edhrecp__cards"><div class="edhrecp__card-container" name="Will Kenrith"></div><div class="edhrecp__card-container" name="Venser, the Sojourner"></div><div class="edhrecp__card-container" name="Sarkhan the Masterless"></div></div>
<p>We also need to know what precious cargo we're defending. Unsurprisingly, Jeskai has access to several great Planeswalkers, so we can use Pramikon to stop folks from attacking our awesome Superfriends. <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Rowan Kenrith" href="#" target="_blank">Rowan Kenrith</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> and <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Will Kenrith" href="#" target="_blank">Will Kenrith</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> are fantastic, since Will’s minus ability helps make our Planeswalkers cheaper and Rowan’s ultimate doubles our walkers' abilities. <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Venser, the Sojourner" href="#" target="_blank">Venser, the Sojourner</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> allows us to reset Pramikon if the flow of combat changes and we'd rather folks attack in a new direction, while <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Chandra, Awakened Inferno" href="#" target="_blank">Chandra, Awakened Inferno</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> puts the game on a clock even if we're not attacking. Finally, if we <em>do </em>like combat, <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Sarkhan the Masterless" href="#" target="_blank">Sarkhan the Masterless</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> is a hilarious surprise attack from out of nowhere.</p>
<p>There are a ton of support cards in this list that fit in well, including <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Urza’s Ruinous Blast" href="#" target="_blank">Urza’s Ruinous Blast</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> and <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Time Wipe" href="#" target="_blank">Time Wipe</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> as Wraths that keeps our commander safe, or <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Oath of Teferi" href="#" target="_blank">Oath of Teferi</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> for an additional activation of our Planeswalkers and reset Pramikon if necessary. Put it all together with some of the common ramp and card advantage cards, and I think a Pramikon deck might look something like this:</p>

<p>I wanna test out one more potential build path for Pramikon. “Wall tribal” was the first thing I heard folks discussing when it was previewed. I scoffed at this at the time, because it seemed like such a silly thing to do, and because I do overall think <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Arcades, the Strategist" href="#" target="_blank">Arcades, the Strategist</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> is the better option for this idea.</p>
<p>Still, Pramikon did present an interesting opportunity to run two cards that I have always been a fan of: <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Doorkeeper" href="#" target="_blank">Doorkeeper</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> and <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Vent Sentinel" href="#" target="_blank">Vent Sentinel</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>. <em>Rise of the Eldrazi's </em>defender-matters subtheme is hilarious, and it's the one thing Arcades can't do with Defenders that Pramikon lets us play around with.</p>
<p>On the subjects of defenders, I personally love <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Nesting Dragon" href="#" target="_blank">Nesting Dragon</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> as a way of making them for a pretty low investment. Since almost all our creatures have Defender, <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="High Alert" href="#" target="_blank">High Alert</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> is a much more important card in this version of the list. This gives us the inclination to also add in ways to protect it or bring it back, should it wind up in our graveyard. For instance, since it's a three-mana permanent, it gives us a reason to include <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Sun Titan" href="#" target="_blank">Sun Titan</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>, which also works great with things like <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Auramancer" href="#" target="_blank">Auramancer</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span>.</p>
<p>Oh, and since we're so defensive... I included <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Approach of the Second Sun" href="#" target="_blank">Approach of the Second Sun</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> as another defensive win condition.</p>
<p>While I struggled slightly with the list to get enough walls that I felt were high enough value, the deck ultimately looks like this:</p>

<p>It’s crazy to think Walls and defenders can make their own viable decks in Commander. I never quite bought into the hype behind <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Arcades, the Strategist" href="#" target="_blank">Arcades, the Strategist</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> when he was revealed, though I do credit him with at least providing card advantage. <span class="edhrecp__link"><a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Pramikon, Sky Rampart" href="#" target="_blank">Pramikon, Sky Rampart</a><span class="edhrecp__link-image"></span></span> may not provide that kind of advantage, but the benefits and value are still there with the right build. There are still many more <i>Replacement Commanders</i> left to go, though!</p>
