<li>Easier shuffling - Having your Magic deck sleeved up makes it easier to shuffle the cards without having to bend them, as the sleeves allow the cards to slide in between each other. How well the cards shuffle while sleeved is often referred to as "shuffle feel."</li>

Putting your cards into a regular card sleeve is very simple. All you have to do is slide the card into the protective pouch of the sleeve until it reaches the other end, with the card's face on the side of the sleeve's clear side.

But be careful not to apply too much pressure to any one spot on the card as you do, since this can cause damage to the card.
If you feel too much resistance as you slide the card in, apply pressure to a different spot or try a different method.
If you're double-sleeving your card, you'll put the card into the inner sleeve first, then slide the card into the regular sleeve.

TCG sleeves are not all the same size. So it's important that you pick the right size for your Magic cards.
You'll want to look for the term "standard size." These sleeves are sized to fit Magic cards, which are measured at 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches (63.5mm by 88.9mm).
Make sure to avoid any sleeves that say "Japanese size," as these won't fit Magic cards. These sleeves are smaller, and used for card games like Yu-Gi-Oh! and Cardfight!! Vanguard.
There are also sleeve types known as "inner" or "outer." While these card sleeves will fit your Magic cards, they're intended to be used only for double- and triple-sleeving.
We'll talk about this a bit more later in the guide, but just know that inner and outer sleeves shouldn't be used on their own, but in addition to regular, standard size sleeves.

TCG sleeves come in various quantities, so it's important to know what quantity to buy. If you're buying sleeves for a deck, particularly a Commander deck, you'll want to get a 100-count sleeve package.
If you're getting sleeves just for card storage, then you can buy however many you need for your collection.

Here's where things get tricky. There are a vast number of card sleeve types that you can use. And what you use will be entirely up to how you want your sleeves to look and feel.
Every sleeve manufacturer has their own product lineup, but we'll do our best to cover common terms across brands. Here are a list of terms you'll see frequently and what they mean.
Toploading/sideloading - This refers to which side of the sleeve the card will slide into. Toploaders are most common.
Matte/Gloss - This refers to how shiny the surface of the sleeve is.
Penny sleeves - These are ultra cheap sleeves, only meant to be used for card storage. Do not buy them to use for decks.
Inner/outer sleeves - These are used for double- or triple-sleeving your decks. They don't replace the standard sleeves, but are used in addition to them, as added protection.

Another popular sleeve brand is Ultra Pro, a company that has been around for over 70 years. Many players will recognize Ultra Pro as a common purveyor of binders, sleeves, deckboxes with recognizable Magic art on them.

<h2>Personal Buyer Experience</h2>
I had no idea what I was walking into when I first heard about <a href="https://manapool.com/">Mana Pool</a>. I've used other marketplaces before, but I was really interested in seeing what made this one different than the others.
The way I went about this was simple. I still had yet to finish upgrading my Lord of the Rings Tales of Middle Earth commander decks from last year, so there were a handful of cards I still had to pick up in order to round them out!
Searching for the cards were simple, even for the most esoteric ones, like a Tales of Middle Earth Commander <a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Graypelt Refuge|LTC|316" href="#" target="_blank">Graypelt Refuge</a>. Scrolling through the various printings and finding that specific one was easy! At one point, when I went to checkout, I realized I had the wrong version of <a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Port Town" href="#" target="_blank">Port Town</a> in my cart. Luckily, the "Replace" feature in <a href="https://manapool.com/">Mana Pool</a>'s cart let me swap out the versions with ease without making me need to go through the trouble of deleting it from my card and searching for the card again. It was also super easy to see which sellers were in my cart as I was ordering cards, that way I could optimize on shipping costs!

Mana Pool and EDHREC Partnership Announcement

The Commander Sealed event in Rochester, NY, is quickly becoming a highlight for Magic: The Gathering players in the region. This year's event takes place from September 13th to the 15th at the RIT Inn and Convention Center. The event draws fans of the Commander format who crave a new and unique twist on Sealed. This event challenges participants to construct their Commander decks from a limited pool of Sealed booster packs. This gets players pushing their strategic thinking and creativity to the limit.

The Magic community has even begun to embrace this innovative format. It created an atmosphere of excitement and camaraderie where players face off and open packs. Every card pulled can dramatically shift the direction a deck is built. This event not only showcases the diversity of the Commander format but the social aspect of the format.
<h2>The Format</h2>
One thing that makes Commander Sealed such a unique event is the format itself. Players are still are using 98-99 cards plus a command zone as it gets filled and follow the color identity restrictions. Where the format diverges from traditional constructed Commander is the card pool. Participants at Commander Sealed are given 14 semi-randomized packs which they open and build there card pool from. Another factor with this pushing the boundary further is the continuous construction of the decks. This unique rule lets players freely exchange cards from their pool with others within their pods to assist with their own decks and their pod mates. Once the deck construction phase is complete cards can still be swapped between mainboard and side board in between rounds as well.

Now, say that you're attending the event and you happen to open a <a class="edhrecp__link-a" content="Hullbreacher" href="#" target="_blank">Hullbreacher</a> in a pack. This is normally a round of bad news as it is banned for play in Commander. Thankfully, at Commander Sealed you're able to play all cards that you open in your packs. <h2>The Weekend</h2>
Commander Sealed even offers a huge, fun-packed weekend of Magic for those not playing in the main event. Whether you want to grind side events for value or check out the artist alley, everyone will have something to do. The event kicks off Friday with a welcome party, gaming, and a comedy show featuring <a href="https://x.com/mikecarrozza">Mike Carrozza</a>. Mike is the host of <a href="https://www.youtube.com/@AmITheBolcast">Am I the Bolcast?</a> and a professional comedian so make sure to show up early! Saturday also features a full day of side events to match the main event. Finally, Sunday will wrap up with VIP events and meet and greets for many of your favorite creators. One of the reasons Commander Sealed has taken off like it has also comes down to its purpose. Commander Sealed started as a fundraiser and continues to raise money for Trans Lifeline and The Trevor Project. All of the proceeds from the event after production costs are then donated to the two charities. This makes the event one of the few where you can have a great time supporting an even better cause.
